I never went to college - How do I become a nurse?

Hello everyone! I am new here. My name is Allez and well yea i never went to college! :(

I live here in Manhattan NY where I work for a top hospital for about 7 years. I was also born where I work. I went to a nice catholic HS for about 2 years than things went south. I left after sophomore year and took my GED, got an alright job and never looked back. I was always the helping type though, any cut or injury even if a person fell on the street I would jump into action to call 911 and do whatever I had to do. A little bit later I got my hospital job. I don't do anything medical but all my coworkers are nurses. I am literally itching to do what they do. I work directly with patients and I am always in the room learning as much as I can but that won't get me behind a stethoscope.

So where do I start?! I am lost in Manhattan, a city I've lived in all my life! I work 9-5 Mon thru Fri. What school should I try and attend? What classes? I saw Columbia has a GS program for adults but will that get me to nursing? Doesn't seem like it. These "adult" programs seem to have only the regular programs like hotel management and stuff like that. Help me please!
