I just wanted to know if anyone had advice for new grads to find jobs in Houston,Texas.
I bet everyone was told after nursing school that there would be job lined for you. However, for the past 3 months I have not been employed. The new qualification for RNs is to have at least 6 months of experience. (Which I have ZERO)I have been forced to apply for jobs lower than my degree. Any suggestions..PLEASE!!!!!!!

what degree do you have and when did you graduate? I’m about to graduate in april and i have talked with many hospitals (houston, dfw, austin) that don’t have this rule. If you apply and get hired for a residency program, especially for GNs, they require no experience.

I am currently in Houston. I have my BSN in nursing and I know for sure that there is alot of job opportunities in DFW because I went to school in that area. However, in houston it is a totaly different ballgame. The requirements are more demanding than dallas/fort worth hospitals. That leaves out alot of GNs out of jobs. I would have to wait till the summer to apply for the GN positions that hospitals over in houston.
But if you know anything please let me know what hospitals are hiring nurses as of right now?
