I got one in 06 and asked the BON if I was required to report the misdemeanor in Va and they said no I was not but have to put it on all job aplications which I have done. other states may be different.

    Hello,

In Idaho, to sit for the boards a finger print and back ground check is necessary (back ground checks for employment in ID and WA). I knew of someone in your position. She went to her nursing advisor and got a letter of reccomendation to sit for the boards. She then applied and attended a mtg/hearing and complied with what the board wanted: yes take the boards after working 1yr as an RN tech (basically work for a non profit/community setting willing to hire a graduate nurse with restrictions instead of RN wou would be a GN). After providing the board with proof of completing the requirements she was able to take her NCLEX (passed with flying colors) and she now is working her dream job in the ED!

    Good Luck,

    Amber
