I’m sorry. Two of my classmates also failed. All I can say is we all know the material, I think it’s nerves that get the best of you. Atleast I know anxiety can cloud my mind like no other. Just keep your head up, and don’t let it get you down.
I know exactly how you feel because I failed the NCLEX RN 3 times all with 265 questions. I felt like I was going nowhere and like I had nothing else left to do because I had done previous review courses like Kaplan, Medspub, and NCSBN review as well. I just passed on May 11, 2009 exactly one year after I graduated from school. I passed with 75 questions by using the HURST review and Assessment Technologies Virtual ATI programs. I really benefited from the LIVE HURST review course, so my advice to you would be to look into that review course. The course really made everything click and I felt so much better. Do not give up because you worked too hard in nursing school to give up. Good luck in what you decide to do!!!!!!!!
I know your pain. I failed the NCLEX twice. First time 98 questions and the second time 138 questions. I graduated in 2006 and I just passed in April of 2009. I was so discouraged until I didn’t want to face that test agin. I worked in call centers and it didn’t make me happy because I was getting away from what I had in my heart to do. So I went to work as a tech in a cardiac unit and one year after I worked on the unit I passed with 75 questions.
My point is if you have it in your heart and you know nothing else will satisfy you except nursing, don’t give up. Anything worth having is worth fighting for and nothing worth having will be a piece of cake trying to get it. You may give out, but don’t give up. You will appreciate it in the long run. I didnt give up after 3 years. You can do it !!!!!!!!
P.S continue to study and find a tutor… your local nursing board
will have a list of remedial tutors for your area.
Be proud of ourself for having finished a very difficult task… you will survive…. challenge the exam again and i agree take a review course… years ago when i took my exam it was in five parts and if you failed even one part you had to retake the whole five exams again…Stay strong and good luck….
Failing boards isn’t the end of the world, altho it certainly feels like it at the time. You’re getting very good advice from the blog, so get the tutoring you need and attack with vigor!
Best of luck for a fine future.

One of the VERY BEST nurses I have ever worked with took the boards twice. It is what you make it – either a road bump or a failure – you decide.
