My instructor went to nursing school in the 1960's. She still wears the traditional white uniform to clinicals. She mentioned the other day that she has been wanting a traditional carrying case for her nurse's cap. She said she had one years ago, but it disappeared. She's just using a makeshift case right now. She said that it was made of solid white plastic. I have Googled this like a mad woman and cannot even find a picture of one. I'd love to surprise her with one at our pinning ceremony. Does anyone know what she is talking about or where I can find one?

I know what she’s talking about, tho the ones I saw were see-thru plastic. They were made out of that heavy transparent plastic, like the bags you might get to store blankets or something in, or that they come from the store in, with white cloth tape on the seams, and a zipper around the top edge, shaped like a very small hatbox, and with a carrying handle/strap on the top. They were pretty stiff, but they wouldn’t protect the cap if you sat on it or something!
I haven’t the slightest idea where you might get one – maybe a school of nursing bookstore? My nursing school still had a few caps, in case you got a job in a place where you were required to wear one. There are about 5 nurses out of 800 where I work who still wear them. One just retired after 49 years! Savvy
