At times, in the ICU, with the fast pace, we feel left out of the loop. We would like to know of any nurses who feel the same, and anyone who has found a way to collaborate more effectively with attendings, interns, and residents in the teaching hospital environment. Your experience and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well when a Paramedic student and then 13yr career in EMS I also knew what it was like to be out of the loop from everyone so I just had to get in the loop but didn’t find it difficult to do. Bieng a RN now, I also would feel like I was out of the loop and for me it usually was not usually because of any problem between me the nurse and the Dr… It was the other team players. It seems that you really have to pay attention to the things going on around you with other staff members, not you and the Dr usually, the others that throw monkey wrenches into by either throwing to many or not throwing any to prevent info from bieng avaiable.
