Failing Practicum - Last Practical Placement

Handling Stress. I would like to know how to cope on handling the worse stress of my dream career. I had the worst argument with my facilitator. Two weeks later my coordinator failed me before I even got to the placement by priming the ivt line in her clounded office. My appeal to be re-tested in the laboratory to the head of school failed too. I am on my last leg to be a qualified registed nurse and this is the only thing standing between my qualification. I am devastated, distressed I don't know how I am going to face all these people when re-enrol next time. I also feel embarrassed, humiliated as the coordinator stated that I am emotionally unbalanced etc.etc. This is a worst nightmare one wish to at the beginning of their career. I feel like giving up and just working as an enrolled nurse for ever - less stress and strain.

Help!

    Dear Nandi,

Sorry I just read this post on 11/13. Please, don’t give up your dream of becoming a nurse. If you are stressed out, find out how long you can take before re-enrolling in the Last Practical Placement. Maybe you need time to chill-out and practice. Find out if and when you are allowed into the pracitce lab to do just that – practice practice – practice. Try speaking to a faciliator you did get on with in the past. Ask for advice! ! ! Find a mentor. Get beyond feeling embarrassed and humiliated and hold onto your dream.

As far as the coordinator saying you are emotionally unbalanced – what exactly did they mean by that? Do they have any reason based in reality to think that way? Instructors/faciliators are just human and sometimes they are the “unbalanced” ones. LOL.
Relax & Practice. Maybe you can get another faciliator? I wish you the best of luck.

    Regards,
