One Response to “Positions in Adult Nursing”

Tons! Education – of nurses, or of patients in the community, hospital nursing – many different units and types of nurses in the hospital that deal with adults, home health, day surgery centers, physician office nursing. The options are pretty wide open depending on what your interests area. If you are looking to go back to school for graduate studies, first decide what you really love about nursing – what types of nursing, and let that guide your decision in further education (nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, clinical nurse specialists, nurse educators, nurse managers, nursing administration etc). For example, if you wanted to be a nurse anesthetist, you must have critical care experience first to get in – look at what you may be interested in and check out the job requirements so you can be prepared. Then again, you can be creative and come up with a new idea – I went back to school for graphic arts after nursing, and worked in the same hospital where I am a nurse creating patient education materials – combining my love of nursing with my desire to do something a little bit fun and creative. There really are tons of options, just brain storm a bit about what you really love!
