Is there anyone who is trying to become a crna or is going through a crna program and can share their experiences with me? Ie- whats was your gpa or average gpa? Is it impossible to get in??? Please help. I have a 4.0 nursing and 3.7 overall and dont know if I should bother trying as I hear its nearly impossible and very demanding .
Please fill me in on what its like and any advice would be much appreciated!

Crystal, I’m looking into getting my CRNA also. I”m working on my bachelors degree right now and have an average like yours. From all of the schools I’ve looked at, yes they are very demanding. I live in the Chicago area and I’m looking at going to Rush University. You have a better chance of getting into their CRNA school if you work there. That may be true for the schools around you too.

the best way to find out is to contact a working CRNA.
I work as a surgical nurse with CRNAs every day – they love to share tips with ICU nurses trying to get in. Some will even arrange for you to follow them for a day to get a good feel for the job. See if the schools you are applying to can put you in touch with any local alumni, or ask around at your hospital.
