i have a degree in biology already, and am looking at several different accelerated BSN programs. I have two other brothers in college, so my family is kind of in a rut for money. I am seeking advice as far what my options are. I have read a little about hospital loan plans but do not know where to begin. help?!

If you are working at a hospital already, many of them offer tuition reimbursement. If not, you might want to consider working as a PCT / Nurses aide for now as it will allow for some tuition reimbursement as well as give you great experience for when you graduate!

With one BS degree in hand, you will have lots of credits that will apply to the BSN. Check with your prospective schools of nursing to learn of scholarships. Also there are special loans for nursing students. If service cancelable loans are available, consider signing up for one; these loans are reduced by a certain percentage each year that you work in an area that has a significant nursing shortage. Occasionally students can get scholarships from hospital systems who are willing to assist with your education in return for 2-3 years of employment in their organization after graduation. Also you might consider getting into an accelerated program. Even if you have to take out loans, you can finish earlier and get to work to repay them. Best wishes!
