I am in the process of creating a CEU reimbursement package for RNs at our office. I wasn't able to find much information on the Internet, so I'm asking this question here. What does your employer offer for CEU or tution reimbursement programs? I'm particularly interested in the dollar amounts and what that includes, specifically travel and lodging expenses. Thanks for your help!

Note to Editor: Please don’t call it CEU. That is not the correct terminology. It is continuing education contact hours or continuing nursing education. I am pretty adament about it because a CEU actually equals 10 contact hours (according to the International Association for Continuing Education nd Training). So you can see how confused people could get around this topic!
In answer to the question: Edward Hospital is a provider of continuing education for nurses. Our nurses can attend any of our CE activities. We also provide funding of up to $500 a year (for full time nurses) to attend external nursing continuing education.

I will graduate in Dec and flew down to Tucson to talk to a couple of hospitals down there. One offered $2500/yr tuition reimbursement with an obligation to work there for at least one year. They only offer $5000./max (so two years, two year commitment for $2500/year). I was at another hospital that offered full tuition reimbursement for ADN to BSN program (done on site through a state university) with a 30 month obligation to work within their hospital network. Hope that helps! P.S. I’m leaning towards the second hospital because of the reimbursement even though the pay starts $2.00 less per hour. (I’ve been quoted $18,000. to complete ADN to BSN through the U of IL online).
