Career Goals and Education

Ok, here I am again. I am wanting to join a 6 month program for the Labor and delivery unit but I have to fill out a "statement" form and the statement is to cover my career and eudcation goals. I am a new nurse with very little experience in post partum. Is there any one out there who could give me a few examples of what they are wanting me to say?

Think about what your long term and short term goals are, then just make them sound pretty:)

ex: I would like to broaden my experience as I learn to care for patients during the Labor and Delivery phase… or something like that.

What do you enjoy – working with diverse people? make it into a statement.

What is you ultimate passion? – Put it into words – let them see your heart and your true passion.

Do you do nursing for a job or do you really enjoy getting to help people during some of their most difficult days? Take credit – and make a statement about why you are in nursing or what drew you into nursing.

Do you want to pursue further education? If so – make a statement about it (I would like to pursue my masters degree in xyz within the next 5 years)

Would you like to specialize in one area – state that in a way by showing an interest in pursuing additional training in that area / specialized certifications.

    Good luck!
