I am a newly licensed LPN and I am getting ready to go to my very first interview tommorrow, the interview is for a chemical dependency program that I have wanted to work for since I did a clinical rotation there earlier this year. I will continue on in my RN year in september, I am just wondering if any one has any advise for me as I approach my interview tommorrow.

here are some interview questions: http://www.ultimatenurse.com/questions-to-ask-in-your-job-interview/54/
I’m job hunting myself. Know your strengths and know your weaknesses. Research the facility that you are interviewing with, like their mission, values, etc.
Some interview questions that I had were:
Name a conflict, and how you it was solved?
Out of our 4 core values name ways in which you used one of these values and ways in which you did n’t.
Name a time you were in a leadership position.

My first interview for an RN position was much less scary than I anticipated – the manager and nurse approached it in such a way that it was as relaxed as possible and could get a better idea of who I was (rather than nervousness getting in the way!) Some questions they asked in addition to those Deb posted included:
– Describe a time you went above & beyond for a client / person / customer in the past
– Describe how you prioritize, how do you think through what’s important?
– If you were assigned a patient, or were in a situation that you had never dealt with before, describe how you would approach it
Good luck! 🙂 Above all, be yourself!
