Please let me know if anyone knows where extership are being offered. I have google only 2-3 hospitals are providing New Grad RN program and 4 times candidate showed up for the job fair.

I do know that many big hospitals such as M.D. Anderson, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Mount Sinai, etc all have nice externships… or otherwise known as “residency programs”. HOwever, there is a problem… nobody is hiring right now. I have M.D. Anderson very interested in me.. I was a summer extern and they have already invested a great deal of cash in me… however, they are on a hiring freeze. Plain and simple.. it no longer matters how good you are, how awesome your grades are or what experience you have… but if the hospital can’t afford you… they can’t afford you.. and new grads are expensive!! Also, if hospitals aren’t on a hospital freeze.. many are on a “replacements only” policy. This leaves no room for new grads.
SO– you have my best wishes. Know you are NOT alone in this.. although.. if you were alone, it might actually make it easier to find a job… In any case, I have been told to look at the smaller hospitals… they seem to be less likely to have all out hiring freeze for the clinician side.
Good luck!! Post what you end up finding!!
