I want to know the impact of a misdemeanor and nursing school acceptance.

20 years ago my husband and I were both arrested when an argument got out of hand and I called police to have him removed. He said -she said landed us both in jail. I paid the $250 fine which means I plead guilty. Will this old misdemeanor cause the college of nursing I was planning on attending to kick my application out upon a background check?
