I know some people who think that it doesn't matter what sex you are, because we are all nurses doing the same job. What do you think? I'm curious, as in my last post, if male and female nurses do the same things; someone wrote that we are nurses first, before gender.

I refuse to do female catheterization, while female nurses do both men and women. Do you think this is right?

Can you remember your last good moment at work? A time or incident when something truly amazing happened? I find it too easy to remember the bad things that happen, while I often struggle to remember the good things that happen in the hospital environment. But the good does outweigh the bad, otherwise I wouldn’t still be a nurse.

I want to become a nurse, but I'm terribly fearful of hurting or even killing someone. Is this normal, or should I think about another career? I want to enroll in school next summer for my prereq's, but I wonder if I can overcome my fear. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you so much.
