Name: Dnai Williams
Hi !
My name is Dnai Williams and I am an aspiring nurse practitioner. I have a couple of nursing school questions. I have done a lot of research but I am still not sure with a couple of things. First, would it be difficult for me to continue my education and still work as an RN? Second, do I have to train in [...]

I recently was looking into a local ADN program, at both for-profit and local community colleges. One of which, I really do enjoy their program, and think is very comprehensive, but it does not have a preceptorship. I was informed by my local hospital, that this is a huge factor in considering nurses for hire. My mother is a nurse, and she did some volunteer/ [...]

I am addicted and scared and I just don't know where to start. I've been on pain pills for approx 3 years after an auto accident and 3 back surgeries. Long story short, I was drug tested at work for missing papers and narcotics. A week before I was withdrawing, I met up with a friend and tried heroin for the first time. Then two [...]

I want to know the impact of a misdemeanor and nursing school acceptance.

20 years ago my husband and I were both arrested when an argument got out of hand and I called police to have him removed. He said -she said landed us both in jail. I paid the $250 fine which means I plead guilty. Will this old misdemeanor cause the college of [...]

I am a nurse from another country interested in working in the USA. I have family in Florida, and see this as an attractive option. At the moment, I have 'indemnity insurance' in the country I work in, but they won't cover me to work in the USA. How much do nurses pay in the US (and Florida in particular) for indemnity insurance and what [...]

I was a RN student in New York who flunked out of my second chance at Med Surg in Fall 2011 Semester. I was working full time, going to school part time, and had no idea that I had a dangerous Sinus Fungal infection, as well as a Pituitary Adenoma growing on the brain. I was feeling poorly health-wise with headaches, sporadic periods for years, [...]

I have recently passed the Nursing RN Boards and am looking for a job, however I did not work during nursing school. Most jobs available require at least 1 to 2 years of on the job experience. I'm seriously considering working with an assisted living facility, but I'm worried that the experience will hinder my chances of working in a hospital. I welcome any advice.

Name: New Grad Nurse

I'm a new grad nurse. I was recently fired from my preceptorship in critical care.

For the first few months, I was trained on the day shift. My preceptor was the charge nurse. While the individual was a good and knowledgeable person they barely had any time to watch over me.

By the second week, I was already basically caring for patients on [...]

I am looking for nursing students that failed a nursing course at Texas A&M in Corpus Christi because of failure to meet the 75% test average or for clinical failure. Actually, if you failed the course for any reason I would like to talk about it with you. I am exploring the option of filing a lawsuit against the university for dismissing me from the [...]
