I was once told by a classmate that RN's can be held legally responsible if you come upon a car accident or any other accident, and do not use your skills to help out, and harm comes to that person if our help wasn't offered. Sort of like failure to render aid.

I graduated from nursing school in May and landed my first job in August. With the economy the way it is and hiring freezes in many U.S. cities, I took a job that I otherwise may not have. I am wondering how many months I should stay at this hospital before applying elsewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am a newgrad working as OR-RN.

Everyday I work 9.5 hours. Sometime I don't even take my lunch but lunch hours but time is deducted from my total hours. Paycheck only shows 40 hours no matter how long I worked.

Does any one has any solution to this problem? I feel like I am being cheated by hardworking.

The doctors I work with don't even have to take BLS. Why do nurses have to maintain their BLS certification after receiving ACLS and/or PALS?

How old is to old to enter an RN program. The hook is that I am a male and male nurses are only 5% of the nursing profession. Am I swimming up hill only to hit a Hover type Dam?

How do I know which colleges and universities are accredited and approved by my state's board of nursing? I have an Associate's Degree and wish to start working on my BSN. I know not all programs are recognized by the BON and want to make sure I choose one wisely!
