I think I might have bitten off a little more than I can chew when I suggested to my unit director that our ER might need some work on diversity. We have committees already- rewards and recognition, mentoring, etc and we are getting ready to move into a shared governance set up within a few months.
My boss suggested that I start a cultural diversity committee [...]

I just wanted to know if anyone had advice for new grads to find jobs in Houston,Texas.
I bet everyone was told after nursing school that there would be job lined for you. However, for the past 3 months I have not been employed. The new qualification for RNs is to have at least 6 months of experience. (Which I have ZERO)I have been forced to [...]

Hi,
I was looking for feedback on the idea of a new grad taking a position as a home health nurse. I recently interviewed for a position but I am concerned that my lack of experience will put be at a disadvantage. The managing agency likes new grads because they can train them to their expectations and they "dont have any bad habits ". Mostly [...]

I've been scolded for practically everything I do or don't do. They've told me, in not so direct terms, that I should take on the nursing supervisors job if need be simply becuase I'm [...]

I want to get some feedback from anyone who has used a professionally written resume. I am considering it but I'm not sure if it's worth the money. Any and all comments are appreciated.

I graduated in May 08 from a college in central Ohio. I passed the nclex and received my license this past August.
I have received offers in other states but have no desire to relocate. Does anyone know of any NEW GRAD RN positions in OHIO?
My friends are stuck working non-nurse jobs because no one wants to hire new grads.
Thanks.

The life of a CNA can be trying at times but it can also be funny. I work as a CNA in long term health care. In the year and 3 months that I have work in my current job I have realized that male CNAs can be hilarious when they are assiting female residents. I was working with a male CNA at my job [...]
